Fuse box located. Vehicle passenger compartment. The fuses are located in the front passenger footwell on the underside of the instrument panel. 1. Unscrew screws, refer to arrows, of footwell trim panel. 2. Lay the trim panel in the footwell. 3. Unscrew the screw, arrow 1, and fold down the fuse carrier, arrow 2.
If this is the case, it releases the starter relay located in the control unit and sends a coded enable signal via the data link to the DME/DDE. The control unit can manage a maximum of 10 keys allocated to the control unit, i.e. a maximum of 6 replacement keys are possible.

BMW X3 models have a sophisticated electronic control system. At the heart of the system are computers (control modules) used to make decision based on sensor and user inputs. The engine control module (DME) and transmission control module (TCM) work in conjunction to provide the best driving experience.
Here's what I've done so far: 1-Check all the fuses on the face of the front fuse panel behind the glove box as well as the fuses that are in the electronics box where the DME is located. 2-Check the 2 large fuses (250a & 50a or 80a) in the rear near the battery (fuses 106 & 109 i believe) 3-I replaced all the relays in the car.

Does anyone know where I could find the windshield wiper relay? It's not in the ECU or behind the glovebox. I even took the panel off where the cabin filter is and found nothing. PLEASE HELP!!
A weak, discharged, or dead battery is the most common cause behind a BMW that won't start. Check the battery cables. Make sure the battery cables have not corroded and are tight. Change the gears. While it sounds strange to be changing the gears in a car that won't start, it could eliminate a possible cause.

On my '92 325i it is low on the dash to the right of the steering column. Press it in and see if it pops out taller, or stays in shorter. If it pops out taller then press it again so it stays in. Test to see if windows work. 2) If #1 doesn't solve it, check fuses in the fuse box under the hood.
