Sounds like the Sandisk extreme card you have is counterfeit. I have genuine Sandisk cards and there is not a single difference between the extreme and extreme pro cards, because even if you use gopro labs and 200mbit/s bitrate, the extreme cards already do about 500mbit/s (tested with the gopro card speedtest)
